With warm meeting cold we will see squally surges that will drop snow quickly but the high winds will also keep it moving quickly. Expect sloppy travel with limited visibility thanks to the winds.

Temperatures: The warmer southern flow kept overnight lows very warm with Crested Butte reporting 24 degrees and 29 for Gunnison. Colder air moving in will push temperatures lower through the day with all elevations in the mid 20’s but with much colder windchill values. Lows tonight will drop under the clearer skies to below 0 for all elevations.

Outlook: Friday will bring a significant change in the weather with sunny skies and colder temperatures. By Saturday a moisture starved northern system will introduce cloud cover and snow showers but nothing too impressive with all the action mostly on the higher terrain.

Hungry for even more weather information? We will see pockets of squally snow showers through the day but the mild temperatures are not an efficient snow producer. Expect temperatures to drop tonight with more snow likely.

Temperatures: Overnight lows were unseasonably warm with Crested Butte reporting 23 degrees and 21 for Gunnison. Highs today won’t move much with CB topping out at 27 and 28 for Gunny. Look for lows dropping to the single digits tonight.

Outlook: The cold front and associated snow will drop south through tonight with snow expected through Thursday afternoon. The gap between pacific waves has closed and we are seeing snow early that will continue through tonight. We have lost some of the organization but picked up some dynamics with cold air pushing down from the north. Expect squally showers hampering travel with another 4-8” possible.

Temperatures: Overnight lows were insulated by the cloud cover with Crested Butte reporting 15 degrees and 19 for Gunnison. Look for colder lows tonight as clouds thin and cold air pushes us down to right around 0.

Outlook: A dirty western flow will have us in snow showers through Wednesday with skies clearing by Thursday on the divide but sooner to the south. Look for high clouds early to break to sunshine but this will be short lived with heavier snow moving in this evening.

Temperatures will be mild but pack layers and expect a big change. Temperatures: Overnight lows held to 11 for Crested Butte but dropped to 7 for Gunnison. Highs will climb with warmer southwestern air to 34 for CB and 36 for Gunny. Lows tonight will hold to the high teens with heavy clouds and snow.

Outlook: Sunday will present the best chance at snow with this wave with 6-8” possible by Monday morning. Snow will taper to showers through Monday but we have another impressive system in the works for Tuesday.

Hungry for even more weather information? Snow showers over the higher terrain at the north end of the valley will be likely by tonight with milder temperatures cooled by gusting winds.

Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to -1 for Gunnison and -3 for Crested Butte. Highs will rebound slowly but should hold right around freezing for all elevations through the afternoon. Look for lows in the teens tonight with thicker cloud cover and snow.

Outlook: A warmer southern surge will build through early Saturday morning with snow showers early turning to wet squally showers through the day. Sunday will present the best chance for accumulation as a northern cold front enters the mix but timing will be everything so think snow. We have the potential for 8-12” by Monday night if the right components fall into place.

Hungry for even more weather information? Snow will continue in squally surges with 2-4 likely before skies clear through the afternoon. Gusting winds could hamper afternoon travel so be prepared.

Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to 5 in Crested Butte before the snow and then evened out to 13 degrees valley wide this morning. Highs today will be cold only reaching 25 for CB and 24 for Gunny with colder windchills. Look for lows around -10 as skies clear tonight.

Outlook: Mostly sunny conditions will develop for Tuesday with just some scattered cloud cover. A weak wave will fuel some snow showers on the higher terrain tonight with chance snow holding through tomorrow. Maybe an inch or two at best but carry some layers.

Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to -2 for Crested Butte and Gunnison. Highs today will stay cool with a valley inversion reforming with CB holding at 25 and 26 for Gunny. Look for lows just below 0 again tonight even with increasing clouds.

Outlook: Pacific waves are stacking in the west but nothing is looking strong enough to become a real snowmaker. Look for an unorganized mix of sun and snow showers through the week and stay tuned for changes as these systems approach.

Hungry for even more weather information? Highs will rebound under sunny skies but will hold to 31 for Gunny with the inversion reforming and 32 for CB. Lows tonight will be cold dropping to -5 or below for all elevations.

Outlook: The next pacific system is brewing in the west but models are predicting a split that will take us out of the sweet spot.
