Warm and Squally.
TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update: 2/23/12 For Today: We held to the drier side of this northern system until this morning when it blew down into our area. With warm meeting cold we will see squally surges that will drop snow quickly but the high winds will also keep it moving quickly. Expect sloppy travel with limited visibility thanks to the winds.
Temperatures: The warmer southern flow kept overnight lows very warm with Crested Butte reporting 24 degrees and 29 for Gunnison. Colder air moving in will push temperatures lower through the day with all elevations in the mid 20’s but with much colder windchill values. Lows tonight will drop under the clearer skies to below 0 for all elevations.
Outlook: Friday will bring a significant change in the weather with sunny skies and colder temperatures. By Saturday a moisture starved northern system will introduce cloud cover and snow showers but nothing too impressive with all the action mostly on the higher terrain.
