Sunny but with good changes brewing.

TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update: 1/13/12 For Today: We are starting out another cold clear day with the colder temperatures from the midweek cold front holding on. Higher elevations and ridges will warm faster than the lower valleys but expect some colder windchills and respect the frostbite potential.

Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped under the clear skies to -7 degrees valley wide or colder in the river valleys. Highs will be slow to rebound under this inversion with CB topping out at 28 degrees and 33 for Gunny. Lows tonight will continue to hold just under 0.

Outlook: We are seeing the fruits of the weather change already with a highly speculative storm rolling in on Sunday night and Monday. The perfect scenario sets up the meeting of a northern and southern wave on the western slope but this one will be all about timing and trajectory so stay tuned. Otherwise mostly sunny conditions will hold through the weekend so pack layers and sunscreen.
