TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update: 1/12/12 For Today: Cold air has settled into the area and we will see sunny skies but cold conditions as valley inversions set up. Look for some high cloud cover building through the day but we are into a lull between bigger changes. Be prepared for the cold today with lots of layers.

Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to -11 degrees for Crested Butte and -7 for Gunnison. Highs will stay cold even with the sun holding to 25 for CB and 24 for Gunny. Lows tonight will be slightly warmer but still below 0.

Outlook: Look for a slow increase in cloud cover and temperatures through the weekend with some light snow possible Monday. The stubborn high pressure ridge that has been keeping us dry is cycling to the east and we will see a big shakeup in the western weather pattern. This doesn’t guarantee snow but a change will be good.
