Bundle up.

TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update: 12/6/11 For Today: High pressure is setting up in the west and we will have some very scattered light high clouds early but clear and cold conditions for the rest of the day. Look for a strong valley inversion to keep us cold so don’t be fooled by the sunshine and pack plenty of layers.

Temperatures: Overnight lows dropped to the lowest lows so far with Crested Butte reporting -16 degrees and -15 for Gunnison. Highs will creep back into positive territory but a valley inversion will keep CB at 13 degrees and Gunny at 11. Overnight lows will be cold again but likely holding above -10.

Outlook: We will see slow relief from the cold as the inversion mixes out a little every day allowing highs to climb back to the 20’s but the sun will be a more stubborn visitor. Look for this high pressure to hold through the weekend with the Colorado Blue Bird in full effect.
