Cool but sunny.

For 7/5/10: For Today: We are waking up to another morning of blue skies and the drier air that we saw move into the area overnight will keep mostly sunny conditions dominating all day. Look for cooler temperatures to hold with a more northern influence but this is going to keep clear and sunny conditions holding through tomorrow afternoon.

Temperatures: Lows continued to drop with the colder dry conditions with Crested Butte reporting 34 degrees this morning and 37 degrees for Gunnison. Highs will top out at 70 for the north end of the valley with Gunnison pushing 78 degrees. Look for another colder night in the mid 30’s while the clear skies hold.

Outlook: Models are predicting the return of that southern plume of moisture by early Wednesday with thundershowers increasing through the end of the week. Take advantage of the drier conditions through Tuesday night but pack a layer on all adventures to the higher terrain just in case.
