Still wet from the south.
For 7/2/10: For Today: This plume of subtropical moisture is continuing to lift out of the south and regional radar is showing thundershowers already spreading north. This will mean the consistent threat of rain and strong thunder cells throughout the day and you should definitely plan your activities accordingly.
Temperatures: The cloud cover that held overnight has kept temperatures warm with Crested Butte reporting 45 degrees and 49 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will be a couple degrees cooler than we have seen with 68 for Crested Butte and 77 for Gunnison. Look for another mild night tonight in the 40’s with continued cloud cover.
Outlook: The monsoonal flow has formed early but models are still predicting a drier pattern by the 4th. Look for the consistent threat of thundershowers through Saturday drying into Sunday but be prepared for afternoon thundershowers over the higher terrain.
