More sun early but showers likely.
For 6/30/10: For Today: Moisture continues to lift into the area from the southwest and afternoon thundershowers look likely for most of our area through today and the end of the week. Look for clouds building through the heat of the day and thundershowers moving from the high terrain into the lower valleys. Be prepared especially if you are headed to the higher terrain.
Temperatures: Lows were 40 degrees in Crested Butte and 43 for Gunnison. Daytime highs will climb to 71 for the northend of the valley and 80 for Gunnison before the clouds roll in. Look for another milder night with 40 degrees expected for all but the higher elevations.
Outlook: The latest surge of moisture from the south will continue to fuel thundershowers with increasing frequency through Friday. By Saturday we will dry out and this should hold through the 4th and into next week. This is just a taste of the real monsoonal flow but it’s on the way.
