Sunny and hot for today.
For 6/24/10: For Today: We are waking up to another sunny morning with more clear skies expected through the better part of the day. We will see some convective cloud cover through the afternoon as temperatures climb above seasonal norms and activate some of the moisture that is lifting into the area. This won’t be worth changing plans over but you may want to carry a layer.
Temperatures: Overnight lows continue to hover in the 30’s with last night climbing a couple degrees away from freezing with Crested Butte reporting 36 degrees and 38 degrees for Gunnison. Look for very warm highs today climbing to the mid 70’s for Crested Butte and the mid to low 80’s for Gunnison. Tonight’s lows will hold in the mid 30’s.
Outlook: Temperatures will cool slightly through the end of the week and into the weekend with partly cloudy conditions dominating. Friday will offer the first threat we have seen in a while of afternoon thundershowers but high pressure is promising to hold through next week.
