Nothing but blue skies but the pattern is shifting.

For 6/22/10: For Today: Sunny skies will continue to hold today with more warm temperatures and just some light winds. Expect cloud cover building through the afternoon over the higher terrain and pushing over the lower valleys by the evening but without any moisture.

Temperatures: Lows have continued to hold just a little cooler than expected with Crested Butte reporting 33 degrees this morning and 35 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will be slightly lower today than yesterday with Crested Butte expecting 69 degrees and 76 for Gunnison. Look for another cooler night with a northern influence offering lows just above freezing again but it may be wise to cover plants at the higher elevations.

Outlook: The pattern is changing and the high pressure ridge will cycle clear of the southwest today. We are seeing the subtropical plume building to the south and weaker northern waves to the north. Neither will have a significant impact in the next few days but look for the convective potential starting through the afternoons.
