For 6/20/10: For Today: Happy Father’s Day. It’s going to be a great day for a BBQ or other outdoor activities. We are waking up to more clear blue conditions with some light high cloud cover early but this will burn off quickly. We will see another day a lot like yesterday with warm temperatures and some clouds building over the higher terrain through the afternoon with gusting winds to the 20’s.

Temperatures: Overnight lows were what we expected with Crested Butte reporting 37 degrees while Gunnison stayed warmer at 39 degrees. Daytime highs will hover on 70 to the north while Gunnison and the lower valleys push 80 degrees. Lows tonight will be right in step with what we have been seeing with all elevations in the high 30’s.

Outlook: High pressure remains the dominant weather feature through the beginning of the week with slightly warmer temperatures. Look for the increased threat of some convective showers in the long term but nothing predictable right now.
