High pressure has arrived.
For 6/17/10: For Today: As advertised, high pressure has set up through the southwest with dry and sunny conditions expected through the day. We will see some wind but the cold front stirring it up has made an early exit from the region and gusts will be limited to the 15 to 20mph category.
Temperatures: Lows were warmer than we have been seeing even with the cold front to the north with Crested Butte reporting 40 degrees and 43 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will be a couple degrees cooler than yesterday topping out in the mid to high 60’s for the north end of the valley while Gunnison climbs to the mid 70’s. Look for another low tonight hovering right on the 40 degree mark as warmer air lifts in from the southwest.
Outlook: The only variable to the high pressure ridge over the southwest lifted well to the north through yesterday. We are left with nothing but blue skies in the forecast with some light gusting winds but nothing to change plans over all the way through the weekend. Make your plans and get outside.
