More sunny skies and warming temperatures.
For 6/16/10: For Today: High pressure has set up over our area and we will see nothing but sunny skies through today with temperatures continuing to warm by a few degrees. A northern system will blow up winds through the southwest with gusts increasing to the 20’s through this afternoon and some light cloud cover likely over the higher terrain into tonight.
Temperatures: Lows have stayed colder under the clearing skies but popped above freezing with Crested Butte reporting 35 degrees and 37 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will climb by a few more degrees today with CB hitting 70 degrees and Gunnison moving to 75. Tonight will offer more highs in the mid to high 30’s valley wide.
Outlook: The high pressure ridge that has formed over the southwest will keep us in dry and sunny conditions through the weekend. Winds will gust to 15mph consistently through the end of the week but it looks like we have nothing but blue bird conditions on tap. Make the big plans and get outside.
