A sunny rebound.
For 6/15/10: For Today: The tail end of this latest round has now cleared the area and we will see some cloud cover building through the afternoon but sunnier skies will bring significantly warmer temperatures through today. We are also in the lull between these dueling patterns and winds should be just blowing some light gusts early and increasing slightly through the afternoon. It’s going to be a beautiful day so get outside.
Temperatures: Overnight lows were cold with the northern influence and clear skies with Crested Butte dropping to 29 degrees this morning and 32 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will rebound quickly with the sunny skies with the high 60’s expected to the north while Gunnison will push the mid to low 70’s. Tonight will see temperatures warming to above freezing but the cautious may want to cover plants just in case.
Outlook: We are seeing moisture building in the northwest and current models will have it staying well north of our area but the mixing systems will produce high winds on Wednesday with some isolated thundershowers possible for the higher terrain. Other than that we are looking at a significant warm up into the weekend.
