Snow above 9500ft.
For 6/13/10: For Today: The brunt of this last system has cleared the area but we are continuing to see the tail end rotating in a cyclonic pattern as it continues to move through to the east. Regional radar is showing a break early but thundershowers and more consistent rains will be likely with skies not really clearing until tomorrow. Snow should stay clear of the valley floors but definitely expect to find it above 9500ft on the ground with snow showers possible through today above that.
Overnight lows dropped steadily finally reaching 32 degrees in Crested Butte with Gunnison holding to 36 degrees. Daytime highs will remain cool but will hover at 50 degrees for the higher elevations while the lower valley push towards 60. Look for another cold overnight low in the 30’s and if skies clear we will likely dip below freezing so protect your fragile plants.
Monday will be our day of transitions with skies expected to clear through the day and temperatures will warm significantly. Models are still waffling on next week but it will be much drier and warmer.
