Mostly sunny to start but changes by the afternoon.

For 6/10/10: For Today: The first in a series of big changes are brewing in the west today with regional radar showing a line of thundershowers stretching from southern Utah through to northern Colorado. This will lift up around our area but will introduce enough moisture to fuel thundershowers on the higher terrain and high gusting winds blowing consistently at 20mph and gusting to 40.

Overnight lows were a little cooler than we have been seeing with Crested Butte reporting 41 degrees this morning and Gunnison dropped to 40. Daytime highs will back off a few degrees with high winds and clouds topping out in the 70’s for all elevations. Look for another night hovering on 40 before it gets colder on Friday.

The pattern is continuing to shift and the forecast is getting wetter and wetter into the weekend. We are sitting right on the southern edge of the northern flow but increased moisture will fuel thundershowers starting Friday afternoon and threatening through to Monday. Highs will drop to the mid 50’s and overnight lows to the 30’s with a dusting of snow possible up high. Plan accordingly but we could use a little moisture.
