A perfect day.

For 5/31/10: For Today: We have a perfect spring day on tap for Memorial Day. This high pressure ridge is holding strong and sunny skies will dominate through the day with temperatures rebounding by a few degrees after the cooler northern influence from yesterday. We can expect some drainage winds building through the heat of the day and pouring into the valleys but only topping out in the teens.

Overnight lows dropped to just below freezing again with this drier air with Crested Butte reporting 29 degrees and 31 degrees in Gunnison. We will rebound quickly with the sunny skies with highs in the mid 60’s for Crested Butte while Gunnison and the lower valleys hit 70 degrees. Look for another slight increase in temperatures tonight bringing all elevations to or just above the freezing mark.

This ridge will expand into the beginning of the week with weak pacific system continuing to cycle through to the north. We will see scattered high cloud cover and gusting winds Tuesday but dry and warm conditions will hold this week.
