A beautiful start and very warm day coming.
For 5/27/10: For Today: We are continuing to see this dry southwestern flow drawing warm conditions up into our area and today will offer the warmest highs we have seen all season. We are also seeing this same low pressure trough mixing into the forecast to our north and the combination will bring back some high gusting winds through this afternoon and into tomorrow. Moisture will stay clear for today but look for some high clouds.
Overnight lows were significantly warmer than expected with this southern influence with Crested Butte reporting 34 degrees and 35 degrees for Gunnison. Daytime highs will climb to the high 60’s for the higher elevations and break the 70 degree mark for the lower valleys. Look for another warm night but still closer to freezing.
We are continuing to ride the northern edge of the southern flow and the southern edge of the northern flow. The result will have us on the windier fringe through the beginning of the weekend with some very isolated thundershowers likely through the heat of the day but otherwise beautiful conditions. Sunday and Monday look great.
