Clearing early with a warm dry forecast.
For 5/20/10: For Today: The drier slot has moved into our area on the heals of this last pacific system and any residual cloud cover or showers will clear early this morning. We can expect mostly sunny skies dominating all day with mild temperatures from this southern flow. We will continue to enjoy mostly sunny conditions through the end of the week but look for wind building tomorrow that could blow up a few variables.
Overnight lows were milder at the higher elevations with Crested Butte reporting 31 degrees while Gunnison dropped to 29 degrees. Daytime temperatures will climb with the clearing skies with all elevations pushing right up to the 60’s. Tonight will offer another night a lot like last night with lows hovering on the freezing mark.
Models are continuing to waffle on conditions for the end of the week with high winds returning to the area and this will interact with a cold front to the north. As it stands skies will remain mostly sunny with any variables holding to the north but the wind will mean fast changes so you’ll need to be prepared for changes. Take advantage of the sunshine while it’s here and get outside.
