Another round of pacific moisture.

For 5/18/10: For Today: The front end of this next low pressure trough has moved into the area with moisture currently lifting out of the southwest and offering warm temperatures. Regional radar is showing scattered pockets of moisture and our high clouds early will see rain by later in the day. This will be the kickoff for this next round that will have us in rain and snow through Wednesday tapering off for Thursday afternoon.

Overnight lows were mild with the cloud cover and southern flow with Crested Butte reporting 35 degrees and Gunnison staying warmer at 38 degrees. Daytime highs will be moderated by the cloud cover but the 50’s are likely before we see any colder northern influence. Tonight will offer lows hovering on the freezing mark with wet snow likely for all but the lowest elevations.

This system has tightened up through the last 24 hours and will move through pretty quickly. We will see a rain snow mix through Thursday morning with the snow line holding pretty high. By Friday skies will be clearing with nice conditions now expected to hold through the weekend and into net week.
