A beautiful start.

For 5/17/10: For Today: The high pressure ridge that brought us these sunny skies will cycle east throughout the day. We will see sunny skies through the morning but look for the warmest temperatures we have seen all spring to activate available moisture offering some isolated convective thundershowers and cloud cover through the afternoon. These will mostly be limited to the higher terrain but it will be worth having layers as you head out this afternoon.

Overnight lows held to the high 20’s for all elevations with the clear skies with Gunnison hitting 26 degrees while Crested Butte reported 27 degrees. Daytime highs will rebound quickly under these sunny skies with everyone hitting 60 degrees and the lower valleys popping to 65 degrees. Tonight will offer another low hovering on 30 degrees for all elevations.

A fresh pacific system is stretching from Baja to Oregon this morning and will move west to east through our area this week. Look for Tuesday to be the day of transitions with another round of the mixed bag of conditions on tap for the middle of the week. Take advantage of these incredible conditions today.
