Mostly sunny early but another pacific shot brewing.
For 5/10/10: For Today: The wind is picking up, the pressure is dropping and the strong front in the forecast is definitely moving in. Don’t let the sunshine early fool you, regional radar is showing a line of moisture stretching from Telluride to Grand Junction moving east into our area. We will see increasing cloud cover through the morning with snow and rain showers through the afternoon.
Overnight lows reflect the shot of warmer southern air on the front end of the northern system with Crested Butte reporting 36 degrees and Gunnison 38 degrees. Daytime highs will continue to climb but the high 40’s and maybe low 50’s will be about all we see with high gusting winds offering colder windchill values. Tonight will offer a taste of this cold front from the north but heavy cloud cover will keep us in the low 30’s.
A strong pacific wave is working it’s way through the northwest and will be offering active and snowy weather through the week. This will remain mostly to the north but we’ll see enough to make it feel more like winter than spring. Stay tuned as this develops but get your outside projects done before Wednesday.
