A beautiful sunny morning for Mother's Day.

For 5/8/10: For Today: The clear skies we were looking for this weekend have finally set up overnight and we will see a beautiful day for Mother’s Day. Sunny skies will dominate through most of the day with gusting winds building through the afternoon and introducing some cloud cover mostly restricted to the higher terrain. We are headed for some changes so definitely make some plans and get outside today.

Overnight lows were warmer than we have been seeing with Gunnison holding on the 30 degree mark and Crested Butte dropping just below to 29 degrees. Daytime highs will climb after the colder day yesterday with all elevations in the high 50’s and the lower valleys flirting with the 60’s. Tonight will see much more active conditions with gusting winds and increasing cloud cover offering mild lows in the 30’s.

Today will be the nicest day we see for a while with a fresh pacific system moving into the west. This will mostly remain to the north but it’s looking strong and will likely effect the entire west. Get outside and have some fun.
