Windy with storms to the north.

For 5/6/10: For Today: The high gusting winds we saw overnight have introduced the front end of this weak northern trough to the area. We will hold to the southern most end of this system which will limit moisture but keep us on the windier fringe. Regional radar is showing moisture holding over the I-70 corridor this morning that will offer a chance shower mostly along the divide but small cells working further south won’t be out of the question.

Overnight lows were super warm with the cloud cover and southern influence with Crested Butte reporting 43 degrees this morning while Gunnison was even a degree higher at 44 degrees. Daytime highs will top out in the low 50’s for all elevations and likely drop over the course of the day. Lows tonight will be half of what we saw last night with cold dry air allowing significant cooling with all elevations dropping below 20.

The brunt of this moisture will stay in northern Colorado but look for enough to slip to the south to offer some variables. Skies will clear into tomorrow with warm and mostly sunny conditions on tap for the weekend.
