Some changes but still warm and sunny.
For 5/5/10: For Today: The high pressure ridge that kept us in the clear skies through the beginning of the week has started to cycle clear of the area and we are seeing some light cloud cover from a weak northern system. The associated cold front to the north and cloud cover will stir up winds again today but we should stay mostly sunny through this evening. Tonight will offer some changes but mostly for areas to our north.
Overnight lows were warm with the slight increase in cloud cover with Gunnison dropping to 27 degrees under the clearer skies while Crested Butte was warmer by a couple degrees at 29 this morning. Daytime highs will be about what we saw yesterday but look for gusting winds and thin high clouds to have it feeling a little cooler.
All the activity in the forecast starting Thursday will mostly affect areas to our north. A glancing blow will offer the chance of fast moving showers and a slight cool down through Friday but there is nothing out there worth changing plans over. As it stands we will see nice conditions holding through the weekend.
