Still linger snow showers but clearing early.
For 4/24/10: For Today: The brunt of this system has cleared the arae but some wrap around moisture and remnants will linger on the divide to offer scattered snow showers through the day. We can expect conditions to improve consistently through the day with at least partly sunny skies dominating by this afternoon. Another northern system will keep northern Colorado in the threat of thundershowers and isolated snow through tomorrow but we shouldn’t see anything more than some high clouds from that system.
Overnight lows have stayed steady through this latest system with Crested Butte reporting 26 degrees and Gunnison holding a couple degrees warmer at 30. Daytime highs will climb through the 30’s and threaten the 40’s by the afternoon as the milder air starts to move into our area. This clearing will offer a colder night tonight with the teens a likely low for all elevations.
Regional radar is showing very little as far as organized moisture and the barometer has been rising steady through the last 8 hours so all signs indicate that the clearing we were expecting is on track. Expect variables with some of these lingering remnants as you head out today and pack layers.
