Blowing with heavy clouds but no snow yet.

For 4/13/10: For Today: We have seen a big shuffle in the western weather pattern as this next round approached and the brunt is heading well to the north while we will be left to the southern most edge and the windier fringe. We can still expect about the same amount of moisture but the cold core will be less significant than expected and will rob the atmosphere of the dynamics for efficient snow production. Look for squally snow showers moving in and out of the area quickly with 1 to 2 inches possible for the lower valleys.

Overnight lows were moderate with the continued southwestern flow with Crested Butte reporting 27 degrees and Gunnison holding at 30. Daytime highs will hold to the low 40’s without the real cold front finding our area. By tonight skies will start to clear with colder temperatures likely dropping to the low 20’s for all elevations.

Tomorrow will bring the return of sunny skies with warm temperatures and beautiful spring conditions dominating through Friday morning when the next round of pacific moisture enters the forecast. Expect variable conditions today with this wind and warmer temperatures with a mix of rain and snow not out of the question given the warm start.
