Finally some clear skies.
For 4/6/10: For Today: We are seeing some lingering remnants from this last wave with wraparound moisture expected to hold mostly to our north. We will see clouds early clearing throughout the day with the high pressure ridge from the west starting to work it’s way into our area. Winds will gust to the about 15mph as the skies clear but nothing like what we have been seeing.
Overnight lows were colder with this same northern airmass holding strong with Crested Butte reporting 14 degrees and Gunnison 19 degrees but with colder windchill values. Daytime highs will stay cool today as we transition into a warmer flow with the mid to low 30’s the high point for all elevations. Tonight will offer another colder clear night but lows will likely rise by a couple degrees.
This high pressure ridge will be fully set up by tomorrow with sunny skies and significantly warmer temperatures building back into the area for the end of the week. The pattern will switch around to the southwest for the end of the week and hold there into the weekend with some models predicting weather for the beginning of next week. Expect a day of transition today and pack layers while some variables remain especially over the higher terrain.
