Blowing and snowing.

For 4/6/10: For Today: High winds have shuffled these pacific waves in the western weather pattern and the brunt of this latest round is holding to the north. We are sitting on the southern fringe with the colder northern air mixing with the warmer southern airmass. The result is a dynamic pattern that will be too windy to really organize but strong enough to fuel squally snow showers that will drop a couple inches on us by tomorrow morning.

Overnight lows were cool compared to what we have been seeing with Crested Butte reporting 18 degrees and Gunnison 21 degrees. Daytime highs will hold to the 20’s and maybe pop to 30 but the colder northern air will be with us through tomorrow. Expect significantly colder windchill values that you will need to be prepared for. Overnight lows tonight will be in the teens again.

This system will clear the area by tonight with some lingering remnants into tomorrow. By Wednesday night we will see the return of high pressure with sunny skies expected to stick with us into the weekend. Be prepared for limited visibility on the roads and cold windchills today.
