The lifts have stopped but the snow goes on.

For 4/5/10: For Today: Warm air from the south built into the area through the day yesterday and we are seeing it hang on for today. We can expect snow increasing throughout the day as this next wave moves through to the east with a couple inches possible but the real snow will hold off until tonight and tomorrow with a colder wave from the north offering snow through Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Overnight lows were very warm with Crested Butte reporting 29 degrees at midnight and then warming from there while Gunnison actually dropped lower to 25 degrees. Daytime highs will be warm with the warm start and continued southern influence with the low 40’s possible before the heavier snow falls this afternoon. Look for another mild night tonight but tomorrow will bring colder temperatures.

Waves of pacific moisture will keep us in snow through Wednesday with skies clearing for the end of the week. Until then look for colder temperatures with this next round and good dynamics for snow production. Spring is starting with active weather and that will continue for the next couple days.
