Heavy snow and blowing.

For 4/3/10: For Today: A fresh round of moisture has settled into the gap where this last system was looking to have cleared the area and we are seeing another potentially volatile mix of components. Look for snow this morning to offer a couple of inches of accumulation but as the pattern continues to progress we will see high gusting winds adding to the mix. This will offer decreased visibility and squally conditions but will also probably limit the snow.

Overnight lows were colder compared to previous night but right on par with yesterday’s highs with Crested Butte reporting 13 degrees and Gunnison was a little warmer at 15 degrees. Daytime highs will climb to the mid 20’s and may top out at 30 but it will stay cool with even colder windchill values.

Snow will ease through the afternoon with the dominant pattern switching to the north tomorrow. This will offer warmer air to our area but also high winds and continued snow showers. This is not the balmy last weekend we ordered but more of a typical spring storm. Be prepared as you head out for this mix of components and cold windchills. Travel to the east and west will be very sloppy with high winds and whiteout conditions.
