This storm is still coming.

For 4/1/10: For Today: This current weather pattern is setting up like an April Fools joke as it loops around the California coast and then back up from the southwest. The individual components are fueling lots of wind and potential but we need the current line of moisture stretching from Telluride to Grand Junction to move through to the east. This was initially forecast to happen overnight but is now expected to hold off until later this morning.

Overnight lows were much warmer than expected again with Crested Butte only dropping to 29 degrees this morning and Gunnison holding above freezing at 33 degrees. Daytime highs will hit the high 30’s and even 40 before the snow starts and we drop back to the freezing mark. Look for an overnight low tonight closer to normal but still likely holding in the high teens.

Snow will be increasing throughout the day with a fast switch expected from showers to heavy squalls as the meat of this system sets up. Be prepared for this change as you are headed out and definitely have layers available. Check back for updates as the forecast gets snowier and snowier.
