Still brewing with a messy system on the way.
For 3/31/10: For Today: The current pattern out of the west is serving up weather soup as different systems come together and are blown around by these high winds. The result is a very confused pattern. We will see cloud cover building through the morning with more high winds blowing this next round of pacific moisture into the area. Snow will hold off until later in the day with any real threat of accumulations not coming until Thursday morning.
Overnight lows were warmer than we have seen all season with Crested Butte only dropping to 38 degrees while Gunnison was more normal at 21 degrees. Daytime highs will climb back to the mid 40’s before dropping through the evening on the front end of this next storm. Look for colder overnight lows tonight but still pretty warm holding in the 20’s valley wide.
This is a classic spring storm building in the west with high winds and multiple fronts creating a hard to predict but potentially strong system. Our best chance at snow will come through early tomorrow morning and into the afternoon with squally showers limiting visibility and complicating travel. Batten down the hatches and be prepared.
