More sun than expected.
For 3/27/10: For Today: We ended up on the windier fringe of this northern system with the southern most edge hugging the divide and keeping snow falling over the divide and higher peaks while we stayed mostly dry. We re waking up to broken cloud cover with regional radar showing moisture to the west that could offer some very isolated snow showers but nothing to change any plans over. We can expect some continued gusting winds blowing these remnants clear of the area but also partly sunny skies.
Overnight lows were warmer than expected even with the cloud cover with Crested Butte holding at 18 degrees and Gunnison dropping to 17 degrees. Daytime highs will hold right around the high 20’s or low 30’s depending on how much sun we see early. Tonight will be cold with the clearing skies with lows dropping to the 0 mark for most elevations.
Skies will be clearing through out the day with mostly sunny skies likely by the afternoon. A high pressure gap will dominate the weather through the beginning of the week with another round of pacific moisture setting for the end of the week. Layer up today and expect a mix of conditions but also don’t forget the sunscreen.
