More sun but clouds building.

For 3/21/10: For Today: We are seeing high clouds early that will increase over the course of the day as this next round of moisture from the west approaches the area. Temperatures will be mild with mostly sunny conditions dominating but look for the clouds to thicken and lower throughout the day. We will see snow by Tuesday morning continuing in varied degrees through Wednesday morning.

Overnight lows were still cold but warmer than the night before with Crested Butte reporting 2 degrees but Gunnison was warmer at 9 degrees. Daytime highs will rebound early under the sunny skies but will fall short of yesterday’s highs topping out around 30 degrees. Look for warmer lows tonight in the single digits or higher as this cloud cover settles in.

Today will be a day of transition as this next round of moisture drops south and through our area for tomorrow and Wednesday. This system is lacking productive dynamics so accumulations will be limited to a couple inches. Pack layers as you head out today and be prepared for changes.
