Early with just a little snow.
For 3/10/10: For Today: The different weather components coming together in our area through the last 24 hours have taken some non-beneficial turns with the southern moisture staying south and the drier northern flow moving in early. We will see snow as wrap around moisture from a northern system drops south over the divide but it will mean more very hit or miss snow showers with accumulations limited to an inch or two. Regional radar shows this moisture currently to our west this morning so expect changes after noon.
Overnight lows dropped this morning under the clearer skies with Crested Butte reporting 7 degrees and Gunnison was right in check at 6 degrees. Daytime highs will climb early with the sunny skies reaching the low 30’s but it will be cooler by the afternoon. Look for another overnight low a lot like we have been seeing with the mix of cloud cover and clear skies.
A dirty flow out of the north will keep us in mixed sun and snow through Thursday but a high pressure ridge will develop on Friday that will offer sunny skies through the weekend. Until then pack layers as you head out for the day and be prepared for changes.
