And still waiting.

For 3/7/10: For Today: This stream of moisture is lifting out of the south but has continued to stay to our west early. As the trajectory shifts through the morning we will see clouds thickening and snow through the afternoon and into tonight. With this current north south orientation the cells are hit or miss and we’ll need the right components to fall into place to get what we are hoping for.

Overnight lows dropped under the continued clear skies with Crested Butte reporting 5 degrees and Gunnison 4 degrees. Daytime highs will rebound quickly while the sun shines hitting the mid 30’s but look for increased cloud cover and gusting winds through the afternoon. Snow tonight will keep temperatures warm with the teens a likely low for all elevations.

The weather pattern with these last couple systems has been just a little off with the waves just a little too weak. This wave will drop snow and estimates in the 3-6” range still hold but warm temperatures are not the best for snow production and what we see will come in warm and wet. Keep your fingers crossed and think snow.
