A couple inches fresh and sunny skies.

For 2/14/10: For Today: A ridge has developed in the west that has further defined the northern flow from the drier southern airmass. We have been sitting right on the edge with areas of heavy cloud cover and scattered moisture moving through. Today that line has shifted enough to the north that sunny skies will dominate.

Overnight lows reflected this clearing with Crested Butte reporting -4 degrees while Gunnison weighed in at -3 degrees. Daytime highs will rebound quickly under the sunny skies with the high 20’s likely and low 30’s possible. Look for another cold clear night tonight with lows looking a lot like last night.

Remnants remain in the area from this last system so don’t be surprised by some scattered snow showers along the divide over the course of the day but mostly sunny conditions will dominate. It looks like we will continue to seesaw back and forth from sunny skies to snow through the upcoming week so take advantage of these sunny gaps while they last.
