Sunny skies setting up.

For 2/12/10: For Today: These waves of pacific moisture are continuing to cycle through well to our north with some of the cloud cover and isolated snow showers expected through today. This mix of sun and snow showers will look a lot like yesterday but the squally showers will likely be fewer and further between. It will be worth being prepared for those colder blasts if you are headed to higher or exposed terrain but the lower valleys and areas to the south should remain more sunny and warm.

Overnight lows stayed exactly like Thursday night with no increase in the cloud cover with Crested Butte weighing in at -2 degrees this morning and Gunnison a bit lower at -4 degrees. Daytime highs will rebound quickly under sunny skies with all elevations in the mid to high 20’s. Look for more of the same overnight tonight with just high altitude cloud cover building.

The dominant weather pattern will be holding well to the north with just some trickle down moisture finding it’s way into our area. Snow will be limited to areas along the divide and accumulations will be a collection of traces unless we see some pretty major changes.
