Low clouds and snow.
For 2/4/10: For Today: The split system we were watching has settled into the area overnight with the warmer southern half offering a glancing blow from the south. This will switch through the day to the northern influence with the combination keeping snow falling in varied degrees through this evening. We will enter the gap between systems tonight with skies staying mostly clear into tomorrow before we see another pacific wave for Saturday.
Overnight lows were 20 to 25 degrees warmer than last night with the southern influence lifting further north than expected with Crested Butte reporting 15 degrees this morning and Gunnison 13 degrees. Daytime highs will be moderated by the cloud cover and snow with the 20’s expected for all elevations. Look for significantly colder overnight lows tonight as skies clear dropping back below 0.
Our pattern will remain active through the long term but without any big organized systems. The result will be a mixed bag of conditions with sun on Friday giving way to more snow for the weekend. Expect snow to continue through today but moisture is limited and the result will be just a couple inches at most.
