Still partly sunny early.
For 1/31/10: For Today: The weaker pacific system we were expecting by this morning has slowed it’s march across the west but look for cloud cover building early in the day with snow expected by tonight. Nothing has really changed with this system and the brunt is still expected to hold to our north with only a weakened version offering a glancing blow. We can expect our best chance at snow through the early evening and into tomorrow with just an inch or two possible.
Overnight lows last night were a little more what we were expecting with Crested Butte reporting 2 degrees while Gunnison was just a degree cooler at 1 degree. Daytime highs will be cooler than the last couple days but will still reach the mid to high 20’s. Overnight lows tonight will be very much dependant on the cloud cover but should hold to the low teens.
This system will move in and out of the area pretty quickly with another couple sunny days expected for Tuesday and Wednesday before the snow returns. None of these systems are looking too strong but should offer a nice refresher for the snow conditions. Pack layers as you head out today and expect increasing cloud cover and some light winds.
