The snow continues to fall.
For 1/23/10: For Today: All but the last gasps of the last system have moved through but snow will continue to fall through today and into tomorrow as the more favorable colder dynamics form. The remnants continuing to move in from the west are looking fairly impressive based on thickness and trajectory and we will continue to see squally snow showers. A couple inches through the day will add up with another couple overnight putting us in the 6-8” category before tomorrow night.
Overnight lows stayed warmer than expected again last night but show the changes with Crested Butte only dropping to 14 degrees but Gunnison got some of the colder air hitting 3 degrees this morning. Daytime highs will hold to the low 20’s for all elevations. Look for another night tonight a lot like last night with snow holding to the north but cold settling in to the south.
Pockets of moisture will thin as we enter the gap between systems with snow coming in squally pockets but these will add up through the day today and tomorrow. Look for more snow in the northern half of the valley with the cold air pooling to the south opening the door to some inversion. Today will present a mixed bag of conditions so layer up as you head out and expect changes.
