Finally some new snow.

For 1/20/10: For Today: The tail end of this latest wave will be clearing the area throughout the day with regional radar showing more concentrated moisture still to our west. We will see snow tapering off into the afternoon and evening as we enter the gap between systems but the rest will be short as we see a strong system setting up for the end of the week. Snow totals will vary today with warmer temperatures under this southwestern flow but look for squally snow showers with locally heavy accumulations.

Overnight lows were backwards for the first time in a while with Crested Butte dropping to 6 degrees just after midnight while Gunnison stayed in the low teens at 13 degrees. Daytime highs will stay mild in the mid to high 20’s for all elevations. Look for colder overnight lows as we gap these systems and skies clear a bit but all elevations will hold to the single digits.

We are continuing to see this snow rolling into the area in unorganized waves and the combination of warmer temperatures and spotty moisture will make for squally conditions. Expect slick driving with blowing snow and be prepared as you head out. The rest of the weather week is continuing to look active and snow will be part of the forecast all the way through the weekend.
