Slow but it's snow.

For 1/19/10: For Today: We are continuing to see the slow march of these pacific systems pushing through the west. Regional radar continues to show some significant moisture to our west that will offer snow through midday before we enter a gap between systems overnight. This first round is not packing much of a punch but we will see another couple inches before it tapers off.

Overnight lows were much warmer than expected with Crested Butte reporting 20 degrees while Gunnison checked in at 14 degrees. Daytime highs will hover right in the high 20’s for all elevations without much movement. Clearer skies overnight will allow for colder overnight lows but the warmer airmass will keep us above 0.

The volley of pacific moisture we have been watching is still on track to bring us snow through the end of the week. These waves are stretched north to south so the shortest angle will affect our area but the outlook remains the same. Wetter snow will mean some sloppy travel so be prepared as you head out. Keep thinking snow.
