And the sun is back.

For 1/15/10: For Today: As this last round of moisture cycled clear of the area it has opened the door for the return of this high pressure ridge. This morning we are seeing clear and sunny conditions that will dominate through the weekend before our next swing at some moisture starts to build into the area on Monday. Look for a slow increase in the cloud cover through the weekend but mostly sunny conditions will dominate.

We saw a brief respite from the cold overnight lows but the inversion has set back up and last night Crested Butte reported -3 degrees while Gunnison dropped to -11 degrees. Daytime highs will hold in the 20’s for all elevations with nice sunny conditions dominating. Look for another cold overnight low with all elevations dropping below 0.

We are seeing waves of pacific moisture stacking off the west coast and next week is looking like it will present much more unsettled conditions. Until then high pressure will dominate with cool daytime highs giving way to cold clear nights. Don’t forget your sunscreen.
