Colorado Blue Bird.

For 12/20/09: For Today: This high pressure ridge is starting to move clear of our area but we will continue to see mostly sunny skies dominating through the day. Models are offering different solutions as to how this next pacific system will develop but Monday will mark the true day of transition with snow expected in various degrees through the next week.

Overnight lows were about on par with what we have been seeing with Crested Butte dropping to -4 degrees while Gunnison hit -10 this morning. We will rebound quickly under the clear skies with the 20’s expected valley wide. Look for another cold clear night with the cloud cover holding off until later in the day tomorrow.

As this high pressure ridge clears the area we will see this next round of pacific moisture setting up for this next week. So far just how much snow we will see is still in question but it’s looking like we have a real swing at a white Christmas. Don’t forget your sunscreen today.
