Some lingering snow but skies clearing.
For 12/14/09: For Today: This storm has mostly cleared the area with just some scattered remnants left in it’s wake to fuel some snow through the day. We will see snow showers mostly limited to the higher terrain but a dirty ridge building over the area will keep us in a mix of clouds and sun through the better part of the week.
Overnight lows stayed moderate at least to the north while the snow continued with Crested Butte reporting 18 degrees this morning while Gunnison dropped under clear skies to 4 degrees. Daytime highs will be in the high 20’s with the clouds clearing and sun breaking through by the afternoon. Look for overnight lows this week to drop a few degrees every night as skies clear allowing for radiational cooling.
We will sit on the sidelines of any big weather factors this week as a pacific system builds in the west but the remnants of this weekends storm continue to dominate. Look for a mix of sun and clouds with mild daytime highs but colder clear nights.
