A little snow overnight.
For 11/21/09: For Today: After a weak wave of pacific moisture passed yesterday we have entered another gap of clear skies that will dominate through most of today. We can expect to see more high clouds starting to build through the afternoon as another wave sets up for tonight but mostly sunny conditions will dominate through today. Tonight’s wave is supposed to be a bit stronger and colder with more of a southern element but accumulation will be limited.
Overnight lows last night were mild until early this morning when Crested Butte dropped to 11 degrees and Gunnison was right in step at 10 degrees. Daytime highs could come in a couple degrees cooler than yesterday if this cloud cover sets up early but look for the 30’s valley wide. Tonight’s lows will be in the high teens or twenties if the snow holds through tomorrow morning.
This next round is supposed to slip further to the south than the previous waves but we are still seeing a lack of organization in the storms that will ultimately limit the potential for snow. Look for cloud cover building through the afternoon and snow starting overnight and continuing into tomorrow morning. Layer up as you head out today to be prepared for increasing cloud cover and cooler temperatures.
