High clouds and a blown out front.

For 11/21/09: For Today: The first wave of this northern system has slipped through overnight with little more than some increased cloud cover. We can expect mostly sunny skies to dominate through the better part of the day with some areas of cloud cover blowing through. By tomorrow we will see a slightly more organized front with colder temperatures that will threaten some snow showers along the divide and higher terrain but once again offering little by way of a real threat.

Overnight lows were slightly warmer thanks to the cloud cover with Crested Butte reporting 10 degrees and Gunnison checking in a degree colder at 9 degrees. Daytime highs will stay slightly cooler with intermittent high clouds but continue to hold in the 30’s and even threaten 40 for the south end of the valley. Tonight’s lows will once again be potentially a degree or two warmer but still holding in the teens.

This next wave for Sunday will once again hold to the north but we will see enough to fuel some snow showers and colder temperatures. Other than that we are entering another clear pocket in the west which will keep us in mostly sunny conditions through the beginning of the week.
