Partly cloudy but more sun for today.
For 11/9/09: For Today: The blown out fronts working their way through the west are holding well to the north with just some isolated remnants making it far enough to the south to offer high clouds and scattered showers along the divide. Models continue to back off of the arrival time for the active flow and now it’s looking like we ill see just the mix of sun and clouds through the beginning of the week with Wednesday offering our day of transition.
Overnight lows were warmer thanks to the cloud cover with Crested Butte reporting 23 degrees while Gunnison stayed a couple degrees cooler at 21 degrees. Daytime highs will be moderated by the cloud cover but CB will see 50 degrees while the south end of the valley climbs to the high 50’s. Look for another night tonight a lot like last night with lows holding around the low 20’s.
The western weather pattern is offering up a fair amount of activity but the jet stream is drawing it through to the north or offering a split flow that’s blowing these waves a part. We can expect more high clouds mixing with gaps of sunshine and moderate temperatures before a colder pattern develops on Thursday. Until then layer up as you head out and expect changing conditions.
